   23/06/2010 : VEA Q3 2010 / Alloy extra

The alloy surcharge (VEA) that should be added to the base price negotiated with the customer in order to get the full effective price invoiced by Erasteel is the one valid at time of shipment. The VEA is reflecting the true cost of purchase of the raw material included in the various steels produced by Erasteel. This is why the VEA is quarterly. As for other special steels, each grade surcharge results from the addition of the extras for main alloying elements, namely tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, cobalt, chromium, niobium and scrap. The extra is based on the official quotations equal or above the reference price, minus the reference price. The calculation is made by the SPAS, an external body, and is based on Metal Bulletin and Eurostat average values. By clicking on the link above, you will find the VEA chart for the main grades offered by Erasteel
